Qualcuno mi può dare una mano a risolvere questo problema? Ricevo sempre gli errori riportati di seguito. Sono andato nel db ma non ho trovato nessuna voce duplicata (certamente sbaglio io) relativamente ai temi (che poi sono quelli di base) . La cosa paradossale è che tutti i temi elencati non sono usati ne attivati.

In classico stile Windows - prova spegnere e riaccendere; cioè andare in admin/build/themes/select e cliicare 'Salva configurazione' - non si sa mai!

Non ho capito cosa significa in classico stile Windows e una spiegazione sarebbe davvero gradita. Per il resto l'operazione indicata è stata una delle prime che ho fatto. Come si può immaginare senza nessun risultato

Infatti dovevo immaginarlo - non l'avevi scritto.
Un breve sbirciatina a modules/system/system.install indica che è filename che è univoco, quindi non ci possono essere mai due uguale (lo bloccerà il RDBMS) esattamente come sta succedendo.
La funzione che sta faccendo il lavoro (modules/system.module:808) dice:
Quindi avrebbe dovuto cancellare tutti i 'theme's prima di inserirli di nuovo. Ma evidentemente questo non è successo. Molto curioso.
Prova fare un update...

Grazie per la tua disponibilità ma ho già provate le 2 soluzioni che erano le più ovvie. Il rimedio è andare direttamente in mysql ed eliminare manualmente tutto ciò che si riferisce ai temi e poi fare l'update. Quello che invece non riesco a capire è il motivo (infatti è curioso come dici anche tu).
